business transparency

Therapy exists within capitalism. That reality creates an ongoing tension that I don't believe has a perfect solution.

I believe healing should be accessible, and I also need to create enough stability and support for myself to do this work well. While I hold power and responsibility within the therapeutic relationship, I am also working within systems that place limits on how care is funded, valued, and sustained.

I don't take these tensions lightly. They influence the way I think about my rates, policies, and practice. My goal is not to maximize profit, but to build a practice that is financially sustainable enough to provide thoughtful, ethical, responsive, and consistent care over the long term.

Every policy in this practice exists because I'm trying to care for two things at once: the humans I work with and the human providing the work. Financial instability and burnout don't just impact me, they ultimately impact the quality, consistency, and availability of care I am able to offer. Caring for myself and caring for my practice are part of caring for my clients.

For me, transparency is part of ethical practice. I want you to understand not only what my policies are, but why they exist. My hope is that finances can be approached as another part of our shared reality rather than something hidden or shameful. While I can't remove the systemic barriers that affect access to care, I can be honest about them, hold space for the complexity they create, and make decisions that support both the wellbeing of my clients and the sustainability of this practice.
